COVID-19 Impact on AUPresses 2020

AUPresses 2020 will be held virtually June 15-16. Go here for more information and to register.

April 8, 2020

The AUPresses Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel the AUPresses 2020 Annual Meeting scheduled to be held June 13-15 in Seattle, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The possible risks to the safety and health of our attendees, as well as the uncertain duration of current travel restrictions, have made it impossible for our in-person meeting to proceed.

We are grateful for the work of the 2020 Annual Meeting Program Committee, chaired by Laurie Matheson (Illinois). They put together a terrific and exciting program. Our thanks also go to those who were organizing workshops and special events.

We are making plans for a virtual event in June. While it won't fully replace the networking and collegiality of an in-person event, it will be accessible to a wider audience. More details will be available in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

The meeting mentorship program, organized by the Professional Development Committee, is already moving forward virtually. More information about this valuable program is now available here.

We will be in contact soon with sponsors, exhibitors, and registrants with information about refunds and alternate options. Thank you for your patience and support.

AUPresses 2020 in Seattle would have coincided with the 100th anniversary of the University of Washington Press. Congratulations to its director Nicole Mitchell and all staff members on reaching this milestone! We are delighted to announce that we will be in Seattle to celebrate in 2023. Thanks to the Westin Seattle for offering us scheduling flexibility.
