Scholarship Explores Critical Cultural Debate
NEW YORK, NY–In consideration of the ongoing tragedy of gun violence in America, of which the mass shootings in Aurora, Colorado, last summer, and Sandy Hook, Connecticut, this winter, are only the most recent and notable, the Association of American University Presses (AAUP) has compiled a bibliography of university press scholarship on gun policy, violence, the Second Amendment, and more: “Books for Understanding: Guns in America.”
The latest Books for Understanding bibliography includes more than 40 works of scholarly insight into America’s gun culture. The vetted and deeply considered analysis published by the member presses of the AAUP forms a readily available resource for policymakers, journalists, academics, and hobbyists alike.
