Charleston Asia 2025

2026 Theme: “Between Tides: Navigating the Open Seas”

Charleston Conference Asia is a new event that will be hosted for the first time in 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand. The Charleston Conference is an annual gathering of librarians, publishers, electronic resource managers, consultants, and vendors of library materials that has been held annually since 1980 in Charleston, SC, each November. Founded by visionary librarian and entrepreneur Katina Strauch, it is designed to be a collegial gathering of individuals from different areas who discuss the same issues in a friendly and informal environment.

Our unique conference philosophy places an emphasis on inviting diverse viewpoints, giving a platform to new voices, and equally valuing the input from all sides of the information and scholarly communications industry. We’re thrilled to bring this approach to the library and publishing communities to our new event, and to share knowledge, spark innovation, and build community.
