National Humanities Alliance: Professional Development Courses

Documenting the Impact of the Humanities in Higher Education

This is an advanced course for higher ed-based humanities scholars and practitioners to learn how to document the impact of humanities courses, internship programs, publicly engaged projects, and more. The course is available to anyone and offered at a discounted rate for NHA members.

The advanced course is designed for those who have completed the introductory course or have some experience with approaches to documenting impact, such as writing surveys and analyzing and visualizing data. It will consist of hands-on workshops in which attendees will spend time applying the workshop concepts to a specific project or initiative of their choosing and will leave the course with a research design plan. This course will be held from 2:00 – 3:30 pm EDT on July 16, 17, and 18, 2024.

The course also offers the opportunity for attendees to connect with others in similar roles or who are interested in similar topics to create a community of practice around humanities assessment and impact.

Attendees who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion from the National Humanities Alliance.
