UNSW Press - Editorial Program
- NewSouth Publishing is the publishing arm of UNSW Press Limited and produces general, literary and illustrated non-fiction under its NewSouth imprint. We produce scholarly and specialist titles under UNSW Press, the company’s original imprint.
The lists include award-winning books on Australian history, Indigenous history, military history, politics, law, biography, art, architecture, science, medicine, natural history and environment, as well as writing guides.
We co-publish with prominent publishers, including other university presses, to ensure our books are widely cited and read. We collaborate with libraries, galleries and museums, such as the State Library of NSW and the Australian War Memorial, drawing on repositories of art, photography and material objects to make beautiful books.
Our books inform public debate and policy and tackle contemporary social, political, and scientific issues.
Our active promotion of books and reading helps to build societal resilience through education and broad community engagement.
NewSouth Books is the sales, marketing and distribution division of the company, representing university presses and independent publishers in Australia and New Zealand.
UNSW Press has managed a bookshop on the Kensington campus of UNSW for the past few decades.
