Scholarly Titles Reexamine the Life and Legacy of the 35th President
NEW YORK–Today marks the fiftieth anniversary of the death of President John F. Kennedy, assassinated less than three years into his term, on November 22, 1963. Despite its tragic brevity, the Kennedy presidency is inseparable from many of the most momentous events of late-20th century America: the civil rights movement, the development of communist Cuba, the beginnings of the Cold War, and the space race. In honor of the young president’s memory, AAUP has assembled a “Books for Understanding: JFK” resource as a guide to the latest university press scholarship illuminating his life and career.
