The AUPresses Professional Development Committee is accepting applications for its 2026 Mentorship Program now through May 11, 2026.
The mentorship program encourages communication throughout the AUPresses community by linking applicants with mid- and senior-level colleagues. Whether you are new to the profession or simply at a stage in your career where you could benefit from new connections and ideas, the program aims to provide mentees with a place to gain advice on career goals, professional development tips, and new perspectives on university press publishing. Mentees are encouraged to talk with mentors about specific challenges they are facing, opportunities in today’s publishing workplace, and anything else that would benefit their career development.
The program does not require a significant time commitment. Mentors and mentees are introduced via email, usually in early June, and are encouraged to connect virtually at least quarterly.
Eligibility requirements:
- Participants should be on staff at an AUPresses Member.
- Mentors should have at least three years of experience in scholarly publishing.
- Participants must adhere to the Association’s Code of Conduct.

Participants will be matched by the AUPresses Professional Development Committee. Participants will be notified of their matches around the first week of June 2026. If your contact details change or interest in the program changes in the interim, please notify Alexis Fagan at afagan@aupresses.org.
