This Art of Acquisitions hangout will focus on integrating new acquisitions editors into the department by briefly looking at a variety of situations, including editors who are new to the press, editors coming from different departments or from non-UP backgrounds, and editors newly promoted within their teams. We hope that by shedding light on the trends, challenges, and benefits of bringing on a new editor, we can explore ways to handle change and potential disruption to the department, support editors coming into new environments, and foster relationships within the team, press, and beyond.
