The theme for 2026 Peer Review Week is “Peer Review Capacity: Volume, Speed, and Quality.” This Art of Acquisitions Hangout will consider the increasing challenges facing peer review: finding willing reviewers is getting harder, and reports don’t always arrive when expected (or at all). In response, acquisitions staff are looking for new ways to keep peer review moving forward. The conversation will bring together panelists from three different presses to discuss the challenges they’re encountering, how they’re responding to reviewer fatigue and overload, and the strategies they’ve found helpful along the way, with time for audience questions and discussion.
