The Association of University Presses (AUPresses) is happy to present a wide-ranging collection of great vacation reads suggested by its member presses from around the globe.

See a global map of all 83 recommended reads

This showcase of more than 80 titles aims to encourage all to read a university press publication (#ReadUP) while taking a much-needed break this year. Browse the collection available on Bookshop.org, and you’ll find novels, travelogues, history and memoirs, graphic fiction and nonfiction, insightful books about music and pop culture, thoughtful writing about barbecue, baseball, kittens, sharks…and can support independent bookstores while you shop. Or travel the world in books through a Google map pinning the 83 titles recommended by presses all around the globe.

No matter where you choose to slow down, bring along one (or a few!) of these great reads.

The list announcement also coincides with the conclusion of the Association’s 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting—attended this year by more than 1,000 registrants—and the end of its 2020-2021 program year. Along with readers everywhere, many in the university press community look forward accepting the invitation to “Slow Down and #ReadUP” too.
