The Association of University Presses (AUPresses) has joined with the Association of College and Research Libraries; the Association of Research Librarians; the International Association of Scientific, Technical & Medical Publishers; and the Society for Scholarly Publishing in coauthoring an essay that reaffirms a shared commitment to the systems that sustain research in the United States.

With a focus on continuity, integrity, and broad access, the article, published today at The Scholarly Kitchen, encourages a forward-looking approach to research funding and communication.

“Together with other scholarly communications leaders, AUPresses reiterates our commitment to research integrity, particularly as US researchers face unprecedented challenges,” said AUPresses Executive Director Peter Berkery. “For our global community of 168 mission-driven member publishers, research integrity is fueled by rigorous peer review. That collaborative practice, coupled with an abiding commitment to intellectual freedom, remains the basis of our members’ authority to validate, curate, and disseminate a wide range of trustworthy scholarship in the sciences, social sciences, and humanities.”
